Summary
This report summarizes a hydrogeologic study of Castle Valley in Grand County, Utah, conducted in 2023–24 by the Utah Geological Survey. The work included a valley-wide effort to (1) measure groundwater levels and map the water table, (2) sample groundwater and surface water chemistry, and (3) document how Castle Creek and the aquifer interact through targeted streamflow checks. Using new field data alongside well records and existing mapping, this study provides an updated picture of where groundwater occurs, how it moves, and what influences water quality, and offers a simple water-budget framework to support local planning and stewardship.
