About Us

The Natural Resources Map & Bookstore is operated by the Utah Geological Survey, a division of the Department of Natural Resources. We are the State’s official provider of maps, books, and information on Utah’s natural resources, geoheritage, and history to empower exploration, education, and experience. We also carry a variety of recreational books, local art, and gifts.

Distributing geologic and other reports to the public has been a staple service of the Utah Geological Survey since it was founded in 1949, which is how the Natural Resources Map & Bookstore got its start. And though we have expanded to services and products related to all things Utah, we still focus on being a reliable source for U.S.-wide topographic maps and geologic publications.
