The radon-hazard potential of central Sevier Valley is mapped based on geologic factors. Soil with the greatest potential for high indoor-radon levels is common in the south end of the valley and along the valley margins. This soil is derived from volcanic rock. Answers are provided to commonly asked questions about the occurrence of radon, associated health risks, and radon testing procedures.
