The radon-hazard potential of lower Weber River area is mapped based on geologic factors. Soil with the greatest potential for high indoor-radon levels is found in the Weber delta and along the mountain front. This soil is deltaic sediment deposited by Lake Bonneville, or alluvium derived from metamorphic rock in the Wasatch Range. Answers are provided to commonly asked questions about the occurrence of radon, associated health risks, and radon testing procedures.
