The Wildcat Mountain and east part of the Currie 30' x 60' quadrangles span the southern Great Salt Lake Desert and adjacent uplands in southwestern Tooele County, northwest Utah. The map area is in the eastern Basin and Range Province. It extends from near Blue Lake to Ibapah on the west to the southern Cedar Mountains and Old River Bed on the east. This map displays the first phase of work on a multi-year project to map the geology of the area at 1:62,500 scale (Plate 1). The map explanation includes a booklet containing an introduction, geologic unit descriptions, acknowledgments, references, figures and tables, and also includes Plate 2 showing primary sources of geologic mapping, geologic units, unit correlations, lithologic columns, and geologic symbols.
