The Skinner Peaks quadrangle is located along the Basin and Range ? Colorado Plateau transition in central Utah. Key aspects of the quadrangle includes its location along the Levan segment of the active Wasatch fault zones, southern exposures of the Levan culmination within the Sevier fold-thrust belt, and proximity to the central Utah oil play, East Tintic volcanic field, and Interstate 15 corridor.
